Managing Archiver Servers
An Archiver Server maintains a database of all audio recordings made during operation. To ensure failover occurs and recording continues, deploy additional Archiver Servers and adjust your election settings as needed to fulfill quorum requirements.
Archiver Servers are deployed through an ICE Agent and configurable in ICE Desktop on the Settings > Archiver Server page. The Archiver Server is an option selected during installation. This section provides instructions for deploying additional external Archiver Servers for added redundancy.
If the Archiver Server does not appear in the Settings menu, then your ICE Server is not configured for recording.
The Internal Archiver Server Group is a failover group for managing backup Archiver Servers. For instructions on configuring the Election Rallypoint and Quorum Strategy, see Understanding Failover Groups.
Important: Unlike other failover groups, there is only one Archiver Server Group. New Archiver Server groups are not supported, and all redundant Archiver Servers reside in the same pool of backup Archiver Servers. Only one active Archiver Server is allowed, and all other Archiver Servers should be running in Standby mode.
GEOREDUNDANCY
In a georedundant deployment, the Internal Archiver Server for DC2 must be added to the Internal Archiver Group of DC1 as a Standby server. The configuration appears similar to the following screenshot:

Automatic Synchronization
By design, Archiver Servers maintain synchronization automatically to ensure the same recordings exist in both databases. Synchronization occurs continuously when the Archiver Servers are connected, but if they are disconnected for more than an hour, then a manual resynchronization is advised.
To manually resynchronize Archiver Servers
1. In the ICE OS Configuration Wizard, click the Gear icon in the top right corner.
The Tools menu opens.
2. For each of the ICE Agent Archiver Servers listed, perform the following:
A. Click Database Reindex to create a reindexing job.
B. In the Status menu, click Jobs.
C. Once the reindexing job turns green, proceed to the next step.
D. Repeat this process until all ICE Archiver Servers have been reindexed.
3. Verify recordings are synchronized.
