Managing People/Channel Groups
The Groups tab on the People page allows you to create Groups of People and/or channels. These 'People Groups' (or 'Channel Groups' depending on what is in the Group) can then be assigned to other users and/or channels, making Groups a powerful management tool.
People/Channel Groups may contain any mixture of users and channels, or only channels, or only users. Empty People/Channel Groups may also be created and left empty until assigned.

Note: Do not confuse
People/Channel Groups with
Failover Groups (for servers) or
Mesh Groups (for Rallypoints)
. Each Group is significantly different in function and purpose. For failover instructions, see
Understanding Failover Groups. For mesh instructions see
Managing Rallypoints.
Group Function
When the ICE Server receives a command involving a People/Channel Group, the ICE Server handles assigning or removing the users and channels. All the work is done for you, allowing you to modify the assignments of people and channels without editing them individually. If you have teams of people that require frequent and identical channel pruning, adding them to a Group can streamline that process.
