Patching Requirements
Configuring patching requires the deployment and configuration of the following components. Note that later components in the following list require the earlier components to build on.
*Channels
Two or more Assigned or Intercom Channels to patch together. The selected channels must use the same Duplex setting.
*Patch Server
The Patch Server is the primary component responsible for controlling audio across the patch. One or more Patch Servers is required. Refer to the instructions in Appendix D: ICE Agent Operation to install an ICE Agent. If you already have an ICE Agent installed, then see Deploying an External Patch Server via ICE Agent.
*Patch Server Group (ICE Desktop Settings)
All Patch Servers exist inside a Failover Server Group optionally allowing backup Patch Servers to be deployed in Standby mode. Any number of Patch Servers may exist in the group, but only one Patch Server may be active.
*Patch Server Interface (ICE Desktop Settings)
In ICE Desktop, each Patch Server is represented by its own interface within its Patch Server Group. The Patch Server interface provides status and controls for management.
