Critical Rallypoint Changes in 3.6.0
In ICE 3.6.0 and newer, the procedure for creating and managing Rallypoints has changed. The following list identifies the previous methods of configuration vs. the new methods.
*Channel / Rallypoint Association Change.
A channel cannot be assigned to a specific Rallypoint in a mesh. It can only be assigned to the mesh (Group) as a logical whole. For example, in a georedundant system where a mesh is created with two Rallypoints (DC1 and DC2), it is no longer possible to assign a channel to the DC1 RP and another channel to the DC2 RP.
*Virtual Rallypoints
In 3.5.1 and earlier, an administrator could assign multiple IP addresses (or FQDN) to a Rallypoint. This option no longer appears in the Rallypoints interface in ICE.
In 3.6 and newer, each physical Rallypoint is assigned one (1) IP address. If additional IP addresses are required, then Administrators can create a Virtual IP in the Rallypoint Group. The Virtual IP supplies an additional IP or FQDN to the mesh. Multiple Virtual IPs are allowed, completely eliminating the need for manually assigning IP addresses.
