Federation in ICE refers to the meshing of channel audio through federated Rallypoints. Federation is typically used when different organizations are working together but have different communication networks. For example, Civil Defense, Emergency Organizations, and FEMA working to evacuate people during a flood can use Federated Rallypoints to bridge their networks. When the emergency is over, disconnection is as simple as deleting the federated Rallypoint.

Federation is enabled by adding a Federated Peer to a Rallypoint Server Group. Use the instructions in this section to configure a Federated Rallypoint Group, and then federate a channel to use the group.
