Supporting Peering and Federation
To support Federation and Peering, you must configure the Rallypoint Group's IP Address, Port, ID, and the names of the Peer Rallypoints. The ICE Agent produces a Rallypoint configuration that includes member servers and manually entered peer servers.
Note: The ICE Server does not know the status or connectivity state of Peer Rallypoint Servers.
Certificates:For audio to flow, all Rallypoints must use the same certificates. Mismatched certs will block audio. Administrators must handle troubleshooting.
Unique ID:Each Rallypoint in a mesh needs a unique ID known to all members. Adding a Peer ID requires knowing and entering the Peer’s ID.
Difference between a Virtual IP and a Federated Peer:A Federated Peer is a third-party physical Rallypoint joined to a mesh for cross-organization connectivity, ignored by ICE clients. Conversely, a virtual IP is used by ICE clients for connectivity, added to the Rallypoint configuration as additional access points.
