Georedundancy Outage Recovery
If both or either DC1 or DC2 go down and are left in that state for an extended period, then they will require resynchronization with their database to recover. Use the following procedure to restart an unresponsive georedundant data center.
To resynchronize a stale data center
1. Sign in to the ICE OS Configuration Wizard.
2. Click the Gear icon in the top right corner.
The Tools menu opens.
3. In the Tools menu, click DC1 Restart Kafka Message Replication.
The Kafka replication status should turn green in 10 to 15 seconds. Once green, proceed to the next step.
4. Click DC2 Restart Kafka Message Replication.
Wait until Status is green and proceed to the next step.
5. Click DC1 Data Center Resync to create a new job.
In the Status menu, click Jobs. Once the job is green, return to the Tools menu and proceed to the next step.
6. Click DC2 Data Center Resync.
In the Status menu, click Jobs. Once the job is green, return to the Tools menu and proceed to the next step.
7. Click DC1 Database Reindex to create a new job.
In the Status menu, click Jobs. Once the job is green, return to the Tools menu and proceed to the next step.
8. Click DC2 Database Reindex.
In the Status menu, click Jobs. Once the job is green, the data center is synchronized.
Job Status
Once completed, the status of each job should be green. If any jobs remain red, contact the Instant Connect Support Team.
