ElasticSearch provides channel and people search capabilities in Instant Connect. For example, when you search for a channel name in ICE, the search immediately initiates based on your input, narrowing the results further with each character you enter. If you enter 'a' then all channel names beginning with that character are listed at the top of the results. Enter a 'b' next, and only the channels starting with 'ab' appear in the list. This feature of instant search narrowing is provided by ElasticSearch.
