Appendix E: Client Configuration File
ICE desktop and mobile client configurations can be overridden on devices via a manually edited .json file placed at a specified location on the relevant devices.
Configuration files are sent to devices via a mobile device management (MDM) service, or manual upload. ICE Desktop and ICE Mobile clients check the relevant file location on launching.
To be recognized by the clients, the file must reflect the specifications, parameters, and values detailed in this section. If an appropriate configuration file is found, then the values therein are applied, overriding any prior configuration settings by the administrator or user.
Important: Configuring a setting via configuration file locks the setting. Users cannot change locked settings and attempts to change them evoke a notification that "This setting is being managed by your organization." |
WARNING: Due to the inherent risks of overwriting configurations via a manually edited text file, please proceed with caution. |
