3.6.6 | Instant Connect Enterprise 3.6.6 includes the following documentation updates: P25 DFSI Metrics Addition Added docs for DFSI Gateway Reports and Metrics in support of P25 external server status reports generated by ICE Gateway. Licensing Updates Changes made to Child Licensing documentation. Grace Period Removal. Prior to ICE version 3.6.6, Child Licenses ceased functioning at their expiration date + a 14 day grace period. As of the 3.6.6 release, the grace period has been deprecated, and all Child Licenses will cease functioning on their expiration data. Docs changed to clarify immediate termination of license. License Count Limits Child Licensing requires the purchase of Child Licenses. If you require Child Licensing, you can request any number of Child Licenses from Instant Connect. Covered in Child Licensing documentation. Important: When the number of Child Licenses purchased is reached, no further Child Licenses may be activated. Covered in Child Licensing documentation. Child Server Inheritance: Child Servers cannot create other Child Servers. Covered in Child Licensing documentation. Nomenclature Change: The term ‘Subordinate’ has been replaced with the term ‘Child,’ and licensing interfaces now uses ‘Parent-Child’ nomenclature to indicate the donor source and the recipient. All docs updated. Managing ICE Gateway Section and all associated content moved to the ICE Radio and Telephony Gateway Guide.
3.6.5 | Instant Connect Enterprise 3.6.5 included the following documentation updates: Important Changes to Certificate Management in 3.6.5 Prior to 3.6.5, ICE Systems shipped with a 'default' certificate store containing certificates common to all Instant Connect systems. As of version 3.6.5, ICE Systems no longer provides the 'default' certs and instead the ICE OS Installation Wizard generates a new set of certificates for you. Added to docs: ICE Private Certificate Stores. Automated Certstore Creation During Install Added the ICE Installation Guide > ICE OS Configuration Wizard > ICE Server Installation > Server Certificates > Using ICE-Generated Certificates section. Self-Signed TLS Certificate Generation The ICE Server requires a TLS certificate to enable HTTPS. In the ICE 3.6.5 and newer, the ICE Installation Wizard can now optionally generate a TLS certificate for you. Added docs for ICE Server Installation Guide > ICE OS Configuration Wizard > ICE Server Installation > Server Certificates > Using ICE-Generated Certificates section. ICE Child Licensing Admins may now create Child Licenses from existing Parent licenses, temporarily transferring some of their licenses to another Child Server. Added docs for Child Licensing and ICE Lite Licenses. Archiver Server Groups Archiver Servers are deployed via external ICE Agents and used to store audio recorded during operation. Added doc for Managing Archiver Servers. GEOREDUNDANCY Archiver servers in a georedundant system elect a leader using a default leader election configuration. If the network's configuration is altered (for example, if an administrator deletes the Rallypoint used by the Archiver), then no Archiver Server will become active and recordings may fail. Added docs in Managing Archiver Servers section. External Server Coasting Coast Mode for ICE Agent command instructions added to External Server Coasting. Dynamic Talk Groups (DTG) ICE introduces Dynamic Talk Groups in this release. DTGs are a special type of Assigned Channel with the added ability to activate a patch of pre-configured channels. DTG channels are normal Assigned Channels until their patching capability is activated. DTG subscribers may include users, channels, groups of channels and/or users, and other DTG channels. Added docs: ICE Desktop User Guide > Operation > Dynamic Talk Groups section. DFSI Supplemental Services (Alarm Alert) ICE now generates an alert when an ICE Gateway receives an emergency alarm from a P25 radio system. When an alarm is received, the alert is sent over the ICE channels associated with the radio system and includes the Talker ID and Location of the radio unit (if known). ICE Desktop and Mobile users will receive the transmission as an alert onscreen, in audio, and in the Alerts menu (as permitted by the ICE client's notifications settings). The Alarm Alert feature requires no activation or configuration. It should be working and testable after the P25 radio system has been connected and audio is flowing.
3.6.0 | Instant Connect Enterprise 3.6.0 included the following documentation updates: Documentation Consolidation Previously, the ICE Desktop User Guide contained instructions for Administrators as well as Users. As of ICE 3.6, all administrative instructions have been consolidated to the ICE Server Admin Guide (this guide). The Admin Guide explains how to use the ICE Desktop Communicator as an Admin to configure an ICE System. It does not explain how operate the ICE Desktop Communicator as a user. All instructions for operating ICE Desktop in a User Role are in the ICE Desktop User Guide, including Tactical Channel Operation instructions. Database Operations Previously, the 'Cassandra Restores' white paper provided instructions for backing up and restoring the ICE Server Cassandra Database. As of ICE 3.6, all backup and restore instructions have been consolidated in the Admin Guide under Appendix H: Database Operations. Gateway Deployment Instructions Moved from White Paper to Admin Guide > Configuration > Managing ICE Gateway. Rallypoint Updates Added Critical Rallypoint Changes in 3.6. Dark Mode: All user interfaces in ICE now display with a dark background. All new screenshots reflect this. Translation Upgrades: Preferred Gender Selection can now be specified in Translations added to instructions. Tactical Translation Adds the ability to configure and manage voice-to-voice translations in tactical mode using the configuration wizard to configure the linguistics provider (i.e., Azure, AWS, etc.) and the groups connected together. Added Configuring Tactical Translation. Tactical Mission Expiration Supports the addition of an expiration date/time to a Mission file. Once the date has elapsed the mission becomes unusable. Configured when creating a Mission. Added to docs. Channel Power Button Each Channel Panel now includes a power switch that toggles the channel on or off while keeping the Channel Panel visible on the screen. Channel selection from the Channels list in the left frame still toggles both the channel visibility on the Dashboard and the channel's on/off state. Added to Mobile/Desktop Docs + all new screenshots. G.729 Codec Support The G.729 Codec is now available as a Codec selection in channel pages. Added to docs as a selection in screenshots. |
