Translation Configuration
A Translation is a connection between two or more channels. Translations are hosted on a Patch Server and provide near real-time translation between people speaking different languages. Once configured, words spoken over any channel in the configuration are converted to the languages of the receiving channels and spoken back via an automated voice system.
Translation Example:
In the following communication sequence, a Translation was created and then assigned two channels: one set to English and the other set to Spanish. As they speak, their words are translated and transmitted over the channel by a digital voice.
1. English Speaker on Channel 1 transmits, "Hello, can you hear me?"
2. After a brief pause, Spanish Speaker on Channel 2 hears, "¿Hola puedes oírme?"
3. Spanish Speaker transmits, "Sí, podemos oírte," over Channel 2.
4. After a brief pause, English Speaker hears, "Yes, we can hear you," over Channel 1.
