Introduction
This document is specific to ICE 3.6.5 and provides instructions for upgrading an existing ICE Server to the 3.6.5 release.
Supported Upgrade Versions
Use the instructions in this document to upgrade any ICE Server 3.6.0 to ICE Server 3.6.5.
Upgrading from versions older than 3.5 are also supported, but require assistance. Contact
Support@InstantConnecNow for additional instructions.
Group Migration
ICE 3.6.0 introduces Server Groups, including Failover, Rallypoint, and People/Channel Groups. For more details, refer to the Understanding Failover Groups section of the ICE Server Administration Guide.
Because Groups did not exist prior to ICE 3.6.0, they must be automatically assigned. If the ICE installer detects a pre-3.6.0 version of ICE during the upgrade, then it will create one Group for each of your servers. After the upgrade, each of your servers will be assigned to, and reside in, its own group. You are free to modify the groups as needed.
GEOREDUNDANCY
After upgrading, the DC1 and DC2 servers will reside in their own group. Each group will have one member server. If you wish to regroup your member servers into a single cross-DC group, then designate one of the groups as default and delete the opposite group. This will cause the internal member server to recreate itself inside the default group.
Currently, you cannot edit the name of the Server Group or Server after creation.
