Launching ICE Desktop
Use the following instructions to activate and log in to ICE Desktop.
Application Instance Rules
The following rules are generally applicable to environments in which one device is being used by multiple people. Users of devices only used by them are unlikely to encounter any of these rules. However, if you work at a workstation with three shifts and you cannot log in to ICE Desktop, then consider closing and restarting the application due to these reasons:
Multiple ICE Desktop Instances
ICE Desktop does not support the simultaneous operation of multiple instances on the same machine or VM and prevents new instances from opening until the current instance is closed. If ICE Desktop does not appear to launch, then try using Task Manager to look for a running instance.
Machine Sharing
If you share a workstation, ensure the ICE Desktop application has restarted before logging in. If you cannot login, close and restart ICE Desktop and then log in. When you are done, log out and then close ICE Desktop so that the next user starts in a new session.
Simultaneous Logins
ICE Servers can be configured to either allow or prevent simultaneous logins by the same user. If you can log in on two different devices simultaneously, then ‘Allow Simultaneous Logins’ is on. If you are unable to do so and you require this capability, then ask your ICE Administrator to turn on ‘Allow Simultaneos Logins.’
Terminating the Application
Refer to
Exiting ICE Desktop for additional options to terminate ICE Desktop.
