Cross Mute Location
The Cross Mute feature minimizes audio feedback and echo issues. When multiple ICE Desktop consoles are in close proximity, sounds from one console can be picked up by the microphones of nearby consoles, causing distracting echoes and feedback loops. Cross Mute helps by automatically muting incoming transmissions from other ICE Desktop positions with matching Cross Mute Locations.
This feature is typically used when two or more ICE Desktop users are located in close physical proximity. For example, in a dispatch call center where User A and B are located next to each other. When User A transmits over a channel common to both of them, User A's voice will come out of User B's speaker and then be picked up by User A's microphone (if hot). To prevent the resulting echo and feedback, User A and User B both need to set their Cross Mute Location.
Important: Ensure Header Extensions is selected in the Advanced Settings of the channels used by the cross-muting clients. Header extensions contain required the cross-mute data.
