Configuring Map Location Tracking
Map features are disabled if Share Location is turned off. Share Location is active by default, but if deactivated, then the Map will no longer open.
Use the following procedure to toggle location sharing and/or set the frequency, accuracy, or distance for your own location reporting.
To share your location
1. Open Menu > Settings.
Under Location Tracking, tap to toggle Share Location on or off. When enabled, other users can view your location on their maps. This option is on by default. Disabling this option stops the transmission of your location data and disables the map.
2. If Share location tracking is on, then the following options become available:
*Accuracy
Higher accuracy improves the precision of your location but requires more battery power. Tap to set the accuracy of your location.
*Maximum Update Frequency
Higher update frequency sends your location more often. It is particularly useful when accuracy is needed during motion, however; it requires more battery power. Tap to set the maximum update frequency of your location.
*Minimum Reportable Distance
Use this option to set how often ICE Mobile sends location updates based on your movement. For example, if set to 25 meters, ICE Mobile waits to send a location update until you have moved 25 meters. Other users will see you move on their maps in 25-meter increments.
By default, the minimum distance is none, and ICE Mobile sends update intervals according to its Maximum Update Frequency (above).
