Rallypoint
The primary and most reliable mechanism for election communication between member servers in a group is the Rallypoint group (mesh). The administrator selects the Rallypoint group that will be utilized by member servers to transmit ballots within the server group configuration in ICE Desktop.
Each member server establishes a unique data-only channel to communicate ballots with one another, akin to users engaging in a Rallypoint-connected ICE voice channel. This election-specific channel is automatically assigned a stream ID generated by concatenating '__election_' with the internal ID of the server group. For instance, '__election_fcd50be4-7536-4e93-ae7c-4a236e6c3ebf.' These channels are always encrypted using a baseline key material ('authenticator'), which is randomly generated upon the creation of the server group.
As with Rallypoint-connected audio channels, this election channel requires each member server to establish a connection with one or more Rallypoint mesh nodes in the selected election group. By default, Rallypoint connections use port 7443 (but can be overridden if desired); make sure that your network design allows for this connection.
