Account Types and User Roles
ICE supports two types of accounts: Administrator or User.
Administrator Accounts
Logging in to ICE Desktop with an Administrator account provides access to the ICE Server configuration interface. Users do not have access to this interface.
Account type is specified under User role in each ICE Server account. Open Settings > People > any account > User Role to view or change the User role for an account.
User role selection screen.
The default User role is User. Only Administrators may change the User role.
User (People) Accounts
Users have the ability to customize ICE Desktop for their hardware and operational preferences. These settings do not affect the operation of other ICE Desktop clients. Examples include channel color, speakers, microphone, Bluetooth, notifications, etc.
User Privileges Assigned by Administrators
Administrators can assign additional privileges to users. These privileges include Patch Administrator, Workflow Administrator, and Ops Log Administrator. See Adding a Person.
Administrators can assign the Group Administrator privilege to users. This gives the user the ability to manage the Group's user and channel membership. See Creating a People Group.
