Adding a Patch Server
Patches run on a Patch Server. Patch Servers are deployed via an ICE Agent. Use the instructions below to create a Patch Server inside an existing Patch Server Group.
To create and deploy a Patch Server
1. If you do not have an ICE Agent deployed, then use the following instructions in
Appendix D: ICE Agent Operation to install an ICE Agent. Do not run the ICE Agent yet.
2. Once you have an ICE Agent deployed, perform the following in ICE Desktop:
A. In any Patch Server Group, click the Add Server button.
A window opens with the required commands.
agent external \
--server http://<FQDN or IP to your ICE Server>
--group <Group Code> \
patch –-mode auto

The server http address will be populated with the IP or FQDN of your ICE Server

The group code will be populated with the code for this Patch Server Group.
B. Select the clipboard icon to copy the command.
C. Open ICE Agent on the target host and execute the newly created command.
Important: Ensure the minutes and seconds of all machines hosting Patch Servers in this Patch Server Group match as closely as possible. Time zones may differ.
D. Return to
Settings > Patch Servers and click the
Refresh icon at the top of the
Patch Servers list.

The new Patch Server appears inside the Group.
