Setting Operating Modes
ICE Mobile provides a variety of operating modes that allow you to customize the application to suit your operational requirements.
To set an operating mode
1. Open Menu > Settings.
2. Under Operating Modes, tap to toggle any of the modes listed below.
Tactical ModeWhen Tactical Mode is disabled, the
Menu > Tactical page does not appear in the menu during Enterprise Mode operation. Enable
Tactical Mode to activate Tactical Mode features while in Enterprise Mode. The Tactical menu always appears when you are using ICE Mobile in Tactical Mode and is not affected by this setting.
Radio ModeIn Radio mode, ICE Mobile simulates radio behavior.
Only one channel may be active at a time, however, you can cycle through channels using the arrows at the top of the page.
The Menu > Home > Channels tab displays one channel at a time.
While in Radio mode, the majority of the screen is the PTT button and triggers transmission.
Telephony as a ChannelWhen off, (the default), telephone calls are full-duplex audio connections. When enabled, telephone calls become ad-hoc simplex PTT channels, requiring the use of the PTT button to unmute your microphone during transmission.
Silent ModeMutes the speaker unless a wired headset or Bluetooth accessory is connected. Always mutes PTT transmit tones.
On-screen PTT ButtonWhen on, (the default), the Primary PTT button is active and visible. When off, only a device button, wired or Bluetooth PTT accessory can trigger transmission over selected channels.
Show Server Address at LoginWhen enabled, (the default), ICE Mobile displays the server address field on the login screen, allowing you to change it. However, if you do not want the server address visible during login, you can turn it off by deactivating this option.
Note: If the server address is unknown or invalid, then the server address field still appears to allow entry of an address.
Emergency Alert Button
If a hardware emergency button exists on the device, then a long press of the button triggers an emergency alert transmission over all selected channels.
Telephony Call ButtonIf a secondary hardware button exists on the device, then the button can be used for the following functions when this option is enabled.
Answer/Disconnect
During an incoming call, a single press answers the call.
During a connected call, a single press disconnects the call.
Decline Call
During an incoming call, a long press declines the call.
Allow Channel MutingWhen active, (the default), the speaker icon in the channel panels mutes the volume for that channel. When disabled, the speaker icon still appears, but no longer mutes the channel. The volume controls for the channel are not affected.
Note: If the server address is unknown or invalid, then the server address field still appears to allow entry of an address.
