Username and Password
This option is the default authentication mechanism and always present as a link at the bottom of the ICE login page. Select this mechanism if you are not using the other two.
Note: This option stores the user’s profile locally in the Instant Connect database. Changes to a user’s name, email address, password and profile (metadata) can be made in the ICE Desktop interface when logged-in as an administrator.
LDAP: See LDAP SSO Configuration in Appendix I: Single Sign-On Configuration.
LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) is an open, vendor-neutral protocol used for accessing and maintaining distributed directory information services over an IP network. Support for LDAP requires configuration in ICE and in LDAP.
Note: This option stores the user’s name, email address, and password in LDAP. Changes to the user’s password and profile (metadata) must be made in the LDAP system.
Azure Entra ID SSO: See Entra ID SSO Configuration in Appendix I: Single Sign-On Configuration.
Microsoft Entra ID Single Sign-On (SSO) allows users to sign in once and gain access to multiple applications without needing to re-enter credentials. Support for Microsoft Azure Entra requires configuration in ICE and in Entra.
Note: This option stores the user’s name, email address, and password in Entra. Changes to the user’s password and profile (metadata) must be made in the Entra system.
