Subordinate Licensing
Subordinate Licensing allows Administrators to use existing ICE licenses and apply them to other ICE Servers. Each Subordinate License includes an expiration date. License counts donated to a Child Server are returned to the Parent Server after the Subordinate License expires.
Use Subordinate Licensing to exchange license features and extend your deployment without needing to request a new license from Instant Connect Support. Rapidly deploy additional ICE Servers using existing licenses, and optimize the use of your existing licenses by creating and applying Subordinate Child licenses from a Parent Donor.
Note: ICE Lite requires an ICE Lite license. For instructions see ICE Lite Subordinate Licenses.
Important: Generating a Subordinate License for an ICE Server requires the Child ICE Server to be running and accessible. The License ID of the Child Server will be required during license creation.
The License Server Feature
The License Server feature is required to create Subordinate Licenses. Contact your Instant Connect sales representative for information about purchasing this feature. When creating Child Licenses, adding the License Server feature allows the Child Server to issue Subordinate Licenses as well.

Small, Medium, and Large ICE Servers with the License Server feature may use the License Server to create Subordinate Licenses that are applicable to any other ICE Server except ICE Lite.
